As we begin a new year, Environmental Education for a Better Earth Cameroon (EEFABE Cameroon) extends heartfelt greetings to our students, teachers, volunteers, partners, and supporters across the country. We hope your holiday season was restful and inspiring, boosting your morale in continuing climate change education in Cameroon.
This message shares our progress, our impact, and our ambitious vision for the year ahead, grounded in our mission to empower youth and communities through climate change education, sustainability programs, and nature-based solutions.
Reflecting on 2025: Advancing Climate Literacy Across Cameroon
In 2025, our team continued working across schools and communities to provide weekly sustainability, environmental, and climate change education, to a cornerstone of our mission.
These programs help bridge the climate information gap and give young people practical, hands‑on skills to take environmental action.
Our work also expanded to include:
- Climate literacy in communities through sensitization campaigns and awareness programs.
- Nature-based, income-generating solutions, such as fruit and food gardens that support resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
- Youth empowerment in environmentally friendly income‑generating activities that improve both community wellbeing and environmental protection.
Your support enabled us to partner with more schools, deliver more climate education content, and strengthen our presence in underserved communities.
Our Vision for 2026: Expanding Climate Action Across Cameroon
As we confront growing environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change, EEFABE Cameroon is entering 2026 with a renewed commitment to climate justice, youth empowerment, and community-driven environmental impact.
This year, we aim to scale up our programs in ways that deepen our impact:
1. Expanding Our Cameroon Team
To meet rising demand for our initiatives, we will be onboarding more educators, facilitators, climate advocates, program coordinators, and volunteers to scale our school outreach, curriculum delivery, community campaigns, and climate innovation programs, fostering Climate change education in Cameroon.
2. Strengthening School Outreach & Climate Education
Our after‑school curriculum will continue equipping young people with climate knowledge and real‑world environmental practices. With our Canadian branch, we will develop a global e-learning platform to ensure more youth have access to environmental knowledge and sustainable development skills. Climate education remains central to our mission.
3. Growing Nature-Based Solutions
In 2026, we will increase the number of fruit and vegetable gardens, restoration projects, and sustainable neighbourhood initiatives. These ecosystem-based solutions help communities improve biodiversity, enhance food security, and build resilience to climate change.
4. Increasing Youth Participation in Climate Advocacy
We will continue aligning with global climate platforms such as Youth Environment Assembly (YEA), the United Nations Environment Progamme (UNEP) related meetings and workshops, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), supporting youth voices in international environmental decision-making, thereby fostering Climate change education in Cameroon.
Our Commitment in 2026: Climate Education, Equity & Empowerment
EEFABE remains dedicated to:
- Youth empowerment and leadership development
- Community-driven environmental action
- Accessible climate education for all
- Nature-based solutions and sustainable practices
- Transparency, integrity, and community-centered impact
We believe that young people, especially in underserved communities, deserve tools, opportunities, and a platform to lead climate action locally and globally.
